ERS-3 is designed to reduce salt brining by recycling salt that normally would be discharged to the sewer.

Through a patented procedure, Filter Water Direct is now offering the state-of-the-art programmable ERS-3 system that redistributes the brine discharge back to the softener, displacing the need for completely new brine.

Why is this Brine Reclaiming System so efficient?

During normal regeneration of any water conditioner brine is drawn from the brine or salt tank to backwash the media. After backwash is complete, the brine solution is normally directed towards the drain system and discarded.

With our Salt Reclamation System installed the system would re-direct the brine solution at a point when it is 45% salt and 0% hardness back to the brine tank.

The solution is then monitored for an undetermined period of time, once the solution reaches approximately 10% salt, the solution is once again re-directed toward the drain.

With this process occurring every time regeneration occurs one can realize a reduction equal to 30% in salt usage and hence salt and labor cost. This process not only reduces salt cost, but also reduces the amount of water used during regeneration.
